T1 Energy Stock Rises as Chip Stocks Rally
Enthusiasm for artificial intelligence strengthened across global markets after Anthropic filed registration paperwork for an initial public offering. The announcement sparked buying activity in chipmakers and other AI-linked companies, helping lift T1 Energy shares. Technology stocks in Asia also advanced as traders reacted to the news.
Anthropic, the developer behind the Claude AI platform, submitted an S-1 registration statement to U.S. regulators. The company intends to list Class A shares on the Nasdaq under the ticker ANT. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley lead a group of 22 banks managing the offering. Anthropic has not yet disclosed the proposed share count or pricing range.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Anthropic aims to launch the IPO during the week of Nov. 16. The company reportedly seeks to raise more than $100 billion while targeting a valuation between $1.5 trillion and $2 trillion.
That figure would represent a substantial increase from the $965 billion valuation reached during a May funding round that raised $65 billion. It would also far exceed the $183 billion valuation that Bank of America analysts estimated a year earlier.
Markets Focus on Upcoming Fed Decision
U.S. stocks posted mixed midday performance ahead of the Federal Reserve’s policy announcement. The Nasdaq led major indexes with a 1.09% gain to 26,455.07. The S&P 500 rose 0.51% to 7,716.06. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slipped 0.05% to 52,333.56.
Technology companies outperformed much of the market as AI-related optimism supported the sector. Energy stocks moved lower after weaker oil prices pressured the group.
Investors now await the conclusion of the Federal Reserve’s two-day policy meeting on Wednesday. The decision arrives just days before the midterm elections.
The central bank raised interest rates by 25 basis points in September, bringing the target range to 3.75% to 4.00%. CME Group’s FedWatch tool currently assigns an 89.5% probability that officials will leave rates unchanged.
CME Group economist Mark Shore noted that the Fed rarely adjusts monetary policy immediately before elections. Heather Long, chief economist at Navy Federal Credit Union, also expects policymakers to keep rates steady. However, she said inflation remains the nation’s most pressing economic challenge.
Falling crude prices can weigh on investor sentiment toward energy-related companies, including T1 Energy. At the same time, traders remain focused on the Federal Reserve’s rate decision. Stable interest rates could support broader market risk appetite, while a more restrictive policy outlook could pressure growth-oriented and momentum-driven stocks.
