Alphabet Finland AI infrastructure plan: What it means
Google plans to invest 13 billion euros (roughly $15.13 billion) over two years in digital infrastructure, clean energy and local partnerships to support rising demand for Search, Maps and Gemini.
It described the plan as its largest single European investment.
The package includes a 22-year agreement supporting the Loviisa nuclear plant’s life extension, new onshore wind capacity and a 94-megawatt battery system.
Google said it will also fund forest and wetland restoration, along with recreational trails, public saunas, and fishing piers near its sites.
The company also highlighted Hamina, where its operations supported more than 600 Finnish suppliers from 2023 to 2025.
