DoorDash Inc. (NASDAQ:DASH) expanded its retail and sports presence Thursday with a nationwide Costco rollout and a multiyear partnership with the National Hockey League.
The two deals broaden DoorDash’s reach beyond restaurant delivery. They also strengthen its push into retail commerce and consumer engagement.
Costco Delivery Goes Nationwide
Costco Wholesale Corp. (NASDAQ:COST) is now available through DoorDash across all U.S. warehouses.
Costco members can order more than 4,000 products, including groceries, household essentials, electronics, seasonal merchandise and Kirkland Signature products. Customers can link an active Costco membership through the DoorDash app and place orders for same-day delivery.
The U.S. rollout expands an existing global relationship between the companies. DoorDash and Costco already work together in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland and Puerto Rico.
Costco was also among the most-searched retailers that had not been available on DoorDash, the companies said.
“Costco members have been asking for Costco on DoorDash, and today we’re delivering,” said Mike Goldblatt, DoorDash’s vice president of enterprise partnerships.
DoorDash now works with eight of North America’s 10 largest food retailers, according to Progressive Grocer’s PG 100.
