Super Micro Computer Stock Surges on Strong Earnings: What Investors Need to Know

Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) shares are trading sharply higher Wednesday morning following the release of its fourth-quarter financial results and optimistic future outlook.

Strong Q4 Results and Robust Outlook

The server and AI infrastructure provider delivered strong fourth-quarter adjusted earnings per share of $1.70, beating Wall Street consensus estimates of 62 cents. Net sales for the quarter came in at $11.12 billion, marking a substantial 93% increase compared to $5.76 billion reported in the same period last year.

Looking ahead, Supermicro issued first-quarter fiscal 2027 guidance well above market expectations, projecting net sales between $14.5 billion and $15.5 billion alongside adjusted EPS ranging from $1.01 to $1.10. For the full fiscal year 2027, the company forecasts sales of $65 billion to $72 billion, comfortably topping analyst projections of $53.11 billion.

Management expressed strong confidence in the company’s growth trajectory and expanding role in artificial intelligence infrastructure.

“Our Total AI/IT Solutions strategy continues to deliver strong results,” said Charles Liang, Founder, President and CEO of Supermicro. “We added several hundred enterprise and other customers in the past year, generated more than $60 billion in new orders, and booked record backlog entering fiscal 2027. As demand accelerates, we are improving profitability through a richer enterprise customer mix.”
