Snowflake Inc (NYSE:SNOW) shares are trading higher on Wednesday as investors potentially rethink AI disruption concerns and embrace the company’s growth potential.

What Is Driving Snowflake’s Stock Surge?
Wells Fargo maintained an Overweight rating and raised its price target on the stock to $500 from $320, framing Snowflake as a “near-term AI beneficiary” that can capture AI-driven workload growth without heavy capex or model dependence.
Analyst Ryan MacWilliams argued that AI agents are pushing higher platform spend and that the market has had the “SaaSocalypse” disruption narrative backwards.
The Wells Fargo analyst said customer concerns eased in the second-quarter as AI coding tools and agents gained traction, and a customer survey found AI is increasing spend by driving higher usage and more data uploads for integration.
He also pointed to valuation comps like Cloudflare at 204x and CrowdStrike at 139x earnings, a backdrop that helps explain why SNOW can catch a bid even when the tape is risk-off.
Critical Price Levels To Watch For SNOW
Price is pressing the very top of its 52-week range, sitting just below the $284.99 high from July, which often turns into a “decision zone” where breakouts need follow-through volume to stick. The trend backdrop is still constructive: shares are trading 4.8% above the 20-day SMA ($268.15) and 33.8% above the 200-day SMA ($210.00), with a golden cross that occurred in July.
For momentum, MACD is the cleaner lens right now because it’s flagging that upside pressure is cooling even as price grinds higher—MACD being below its signal line (with a negative histogram) typically means the move is losing thrust unless buyers can reassert control quickly. That tension matters near highs: it can resolve as a breakout if price clears resistance decisively, or as a pullback toward faster moving averages if momentum keeps fading.
- Key Resistance: $285 — a round-number area that lines up with the stock hovering near its 52-week high zone
- Key Support: $253 — a nearby prior demand area that also sits closer to the rising short-term trend structure
