Super Micro Stock Gains on Strong Outlook, Fuels Dan Niles’ AI Rally Call

Super Micro Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ:SMCI) shares extended Tuesday’s after-hours surge into Wednesday’s premarket session, gaining nearly 12% after the company sharply raised its fiscal first-quarter outlook on stronger demand for artificial intelligence platforms.

Super Micro now expects first-quarter revenue of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion, up from its previous forecast of $14.5 billion to $15.5 billion.

The company also raised its gross-margin outlook to 12%–12.5% from 10.4%–10.8%.

The revised revenue range is well above the $11.07 billion analyst estimate available ahead of the update. Analysts expect EPS of 55 cents, compared with 35 cents a year earlier.

Super Micro will report full fiscal first-quarter 2027 results after the market closes on Nov. 3.

Dan Niles Sees Potential AI Rally Trigger

Super Micro’s raised outlook did more than lift the stock. It also strengthened tech analyst and Niles Investment Management founder Dan Niles’ view that AI stocks could be setting up for a near-term rebound.

Niles said his “conviction of a near-term AI rally continues to grow,” even with concerns around neo-cloud funding, slowing revenue growth at OpenAI and Anthropic, and bipartisan opposition to data centers.

He pointed to Super Micro’s positive pre-announcement, which he said came in 27% above consensus, alongside stronger-than-expected Space Exploration Technologies Corp (NASDAQ:SPCX) results.

“Maybe the SpaceX earnings and Super Micro positive pre-announcement today are the trigger to start the next AI-related rally regardless of whether we have seen THE TOP or not,” Niles said.

SMCI Technical Setup

Super Micro Computer remains under pressure, trading about 9% below its 20-day SMA and 6.2% below its 50-day SMA.

The RSI stands at 33.64, placing the stock near oversold territory, while MACD remains below its signal line, signaling weak near-term momentum.

Key support sits near $35.50, with resistance around $42. Holding support could stabilize the stock, while a break below that level would further weaken the technical setup.

Shares are down 40.77% over the past 12 months and trade at roughly 45.4% of their 52-week range, placing the stock closer to the lower half of that range.

For traders, key levels to watch are $35.50 below and $42 above, with momentum indicators still favoring caution.

Analyst Outlook And Benzinga Edge Scores

Super Micro’s Benzinga Edge scores show strong readings for Growth (99.12), Quality (94.03) and Value (92.30), while Momentum stands at 50.44.
