In a Truth Social post, Trump said Bessent won’t take the job because he “doesn’t want to.” He added, “he’s doing such a great job at Treasury, and that’s where I want to keep him,” calling the reports “more Fake News.”
The president’s remarks come amid multiple media reports speculating Bessent’s name was being floated for the role, which Trump unveiled last week as part of a plan to rebrand AI as “Super Intelligence,” or “SI.”
