Palladyne AI Trending After SwarmOS Partnership with Combat-Proven NORDA Dynamics

Palladyne AI Corp. (NASDAQ:PDYN) is trending after the company announced a collaboration with NORDA Dynamics to integrate its SwarmOS collaborative autonomy software with NORDA’s combat-proven Underdog Autonomy Module.

SwarmOS and Underdog Join Forces

The partnership combines Palladyne AI’s SwarmOS platform, which provides decentralized, edge-based perception and multi-target tracking across unmanned platforms, with NORDA’s Underdog Autonomy Module, which handles short-range precision pursuit and terminal engagement even when jamming disrupts communications.

SwarmOS is designed to autonomously detect, classify, assign, and track multiple moving or stationary targets, feeding that data directly into NORDA’s terminal guidance system to enable coordinated engagement of multiple simultaneous targets with minimal operator workload. Engagement decisions remain subject to human-on-the-loop oversight throughout.

Subject to necessary governmental approvals, the companies plan to integrate their technologies onto one or more unmanned platforms and jointly demonstrate the combined system. NORDA, a Ukrainian-Estonian defense-tech company founded in 2024, has deployed its Underdog CORE autonomy technology across dozens of drone manufacturers in Ukraine and tested it in tens of thousands of real-world engagements.

“NORDA has proven in combat, at scale, that terminal guidance can survive jamming and GPS denial, addressing one of the hardest problems in electronic warfare,” said Ben Wolff, President and CEO of Palladyne AI. “SwarmOS turns that proven guidance into a collaborative force — a heterogeneous swarm that finds, tracks and assigns multiple targets at once, then hands each one off for terminal engagement, on its own, without constant communications or a single operator flying every asset.”

Aligned With DoD Modernization Priorities

The collaboration aligns with Department of Defense modernization priorities, including a shift toward low-cost, distributed and attritable capabilities, expanding investment in counter-unmanned aerial systems and treating collaborative autonomous swarming as a current operational requirement.
