Fluence Energy, Inc. (NASDAQ:FLNC) shares are trading higher on Tuesday after UBS analyst Jon Windham upgraded the stock from Sell to Neutral and raised the price forecast from $9 to $12.
The analyst believes the company’s recent reduction in its fiscal 2026 guidance likely sets a trough for near-term earnings expectations.
According to the analyst, this could provide a “favorable benchmark” for Fluence’s earnings growth to accelerate in fiscal 2027.
UBS expects the company to grow revenue at an annual rate of 22% through 2030, while noting that the stock now offers a more balanced risk/reward profile at current levels.
Q3 Results Miss Expectations
This month, the company reported a third-quarter adjusted loss of 24 cents per share, compared with analysts’ expectations for a loss of 2 cents per share.
Revenue from continuing operations totaled $600.2 million, missing the consensus estimate of $848.2 million.
For fiscal 2026, Fluence lowered its revenue outlook to $2.9 billion-$3.1 billion from its prior forecast of $3.2 billion-$3.6 billion. The new range is also below the analyst consensus estimate of $3.35 billion.
Analyst Consensus & Recent Actions: The stock carries a Hold rating with an average price forecast of $17.10. Recent analyst moves include:
- UBS: Upgraded to Neutral (Raises Target to $12.00) (Aug. 25)
- GLJ Research: Downgraded to Hold (Lowers Target to $12.89) (Aug. 20)

Technical Setup: FLNC Below Key Moving Averages
FLNC remains pinned under key trend gauges: it’s trading 12.7% below its 20-day SMA ($12.84) and 28.8% below its 50-day SMA ($15.75). Zooming out, it’s also 33.6% below the 100-day SMA ($16.87) and 39.1% below the 200-day SMA ($18.40), which keeps the longer-term trend firmly pointed down.
The moving-average structure is also bearish, with the 20-day SMA below the 50-day SMA and a death cross in August (the 50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA). That combination typically means the burden of proof stays on bulls until price can reclaim at least the short-term averages and start building higher lows.
For momentum, MACD is the cleaner read right now: it’s below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to fading upside pressure versus the prior upswing. In plain English, MACD compares faster and slower trend momentum, and being below the signal line often means rallies are losing steam unless buyers can quickly reassert control.
From a longer lens, the stock is well off its 52-week high of $33.51 and closer to the lower end of its $6.60–$33.51 range, reinforcing the idea that this is still a recovery attempt inside a broader drawdown. Key turning points to keep in mind: a recent swing high formed in June and a swing low followed in July, which is the kind of sequence traders watch for potential “lower high” behavior in downtrends.
- Key Resistance: $12.84 — the 20-day SMA is the nearest overhead trend line and a common “sell zone” in weak tapes
- Key Support: $6.60 — the 52-week low is the major downside reference if selling accelerates
