Twist Bioscience Corporation (NASDAQ:TWST) stock jumped Wednesday after Anthropic selected the company as an independent evaluator for a protein design campaign using its Claude Opus 4.8 and Mythos Preview artificial intelligence models.
Anthropic disclosed the results in an Aug. 18 blog post. Twist Bioscience subsequently reported the development in a regulatory filing.
Twist Bioscience Tests AI-Designed Proteins
The campaign evaluated AI-designed proteins against 15 targets. Anthropic selected Twist Bioscience to rapidly produce the proteins at scale and test whether the designs successfully bind to their intended targets.
The work gives Twist Bioscience a role in independently validating proteins generated by Anthropic’s AI models. Protein binding is a key step in assessing potential designs for life sciences research and early-stage drug development.
Anthropic said it had received data from the multi-arm campaign using Claude Opus 4.8 and Mythos Preview.
