Elizabeth Warren Slams Trump For Turning White House Into A ‘Billionaire Playground:’ ‘Tesla Showroom…’

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass) on Monday slammed President Donald Trump, accusing him of using the White House’s front lawn for his personal indulgences instead of focusing on lowering costs.

Elizabeth Warren Slams Donald Trump

Delivering sharp criticism via a post on X, Warren began by saying that Trump had built a “UFC cage,” as well as “a Tesla showroom” and a “gold-encrusted ballroom.”

Trump, during the early days of his second term, openly endorsed Elon Musk-led Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) at a White House event, with officials from the Trump administration, like Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, urging people to buy Tesla stock.

Musk was instrumental in getting Trump back into the White House, with the billionaire spending approximately $250 million in donations to the Trump campaign in the run-up to the 2024 Presidential Election.

Warren then slammed Trump for being “busy turning the White House front lawn into his billionaire playground,” before questioning what Trump had “done for American families?”

Trump’s UFC fight card has been touted as part of both the President’s 80th birthday celebration, as well as the 250th Fourth of July celebration. However, a federal lawsuit against the event has been filed by The Public Integrity Project, which was representing two Virginia residents.

Meanwhile, the administration had earlier touted the need for a ballroom following a security incident in April during the annual White House Correspondents Association dinner.

Rising Inflation, $4 Gas Prices

The news comes as the U.S. has been battling rising costs, with Moody’s Analytics Chief Economist Mark Zandi warning that the country’s economy was growing below its potential, leaving it vulnerable to economic slowdown and unemployment.

Gas prices, too, have been hovering above the $4/gallon mark following the Iran war, with the national average price for a gallon of gas on Monday at $4.1640/gallon on Monday, according to data by the American Automobile Association (AAA). States like California and Nevada paid more than $5/gallon, outlining rising costs.
