Redwire Corporation (NYSE:RDW) shares are in the spotlight Monday, with earnings on deck, backlog and gross margin in focus and a technical setup showing a downtrend with improving momentum all drawing attention.

Earnings Preview & History
Redwire is scheduled to report third-quarter earnings on Nov. 4 after the market closes. Analysts estimate a loss of about 12 cents per share along with revenue of $125.48 million. For the prior quarter, Redwire reported a loss of 19 cents per share, missing the consensus estimate of a loss of 17 cents. The company also posted revenue of $117.07 million, beating the consensus estimate of $107.30 million.
What to Watch: Backlog, Margins & Cash Flow
Investors will be closely tracking backlog and bookings, after Redwire reported a record $542.1 million backlog in the second quarter on a book-to-bill ratio of 1.42, helped by contract wins including a high-eight-figure NATO unmanned aircraft contract. Full-year guidance will also be in focus. Redwire reaffirmed 2026 revenue guidance of $450 million to $500 million, which implies growth of about 42% at the midpoint, so the third-quarter number shows whether it is on pace.
Gross margin will draw attention too, after it reached a record 27.8% in the second quarter from negative margins a year earlier. Defense Tech, where Redwire is delivering its Octopus ISR payloads, is the growth driver, with nearly 200 delivered so far this year. Cash flow will be watched as well. Free cash flow was negative in the second quarter, and Redwire said the net loss narrowed to $41.0 million while adjusted EBITDA improved to a loss of $3.2 million.
Redwire Trades 23.4% Below 200-Day Average as MACD Signals Easing Downtrend
Redwire is still in a longer-term downtrend: the stock is trading 6% below its 20-day SMA ($9.03) and 23.4% below its 200-day SMA ($11.08), which keeps rallies vulnerable to selling pressure. The 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA, plus the death cross (50-day below 200-day) that formed in October, reinforces that the bigger-picture trend hasn’t repaired yet.
Momentum is improving at the margin, though, and MACD is the cleaner lens right now: MACD being above its signal line (with a positive histogram) suggests downside pressure is easing versus the prior downswing. That matters because it can be an early “momentum turn” signal—even if price still needs to reclaim key moving averages to confirm a true trend reversal.
From a levels standpoint, traders are watching nearby pivots rather than distant averages given the stock’s current location in the range:
- Key Resistance: $9.00 — a round-number area that also lines up closely with the 20-day SMA/EMA zone where rebounds can stall
- Key Support: $8.00 — a nearby round-number level that can act as a first line of defense if the premarket bounce fades
Zooming out, Redwire is far off its 52-week high of $26.64 after a swing high in August and a swing low in October, which frames the current action as a bounce attempt inside a broader drawdown. The stock’s 12-month gain of 13.84% also highlights how choppy the path has been—big swings, but with the longer-term trend still needing repair.
