T1 Energy Stock Extends Gains as Chip Stocks Rally
Buyers are still piling into chip and technology stocks after Anthropic filed to go public, and TE is rising with them. The filing revived AI enthusiasm worldwide. Investors bought semiconductor makers and other AI-focused names, and Asian tech shares gained too.
U.S. regulators now have Anthropic’s Form S-1, the first formal step toward an IPO. Anthropic, the company behind Claude, wants to trade on Nasdaq under the symbol ANT. A 22-bank team, headed by Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, will handle the sale. Share count and price range remain unannounced.
Per The Wall Street Journal, Anthropic is aiming for the week beginning Nov. 16 and hopes to raise over $100 billion. That would value it at $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion. A $65 billion round in May put its worth at $965 billion, and Bank of America analysts gave it a $183 billion value a year back.
Markets Wait for the Fed
At midday Tuesday, the market lacked a clear direction. AI optimism kept technology ahead of the pack, and cheaper oil dragged energy lower. Attention now turns to the Fed, which ends a two-day meeting Wednesday, days ahead of the midterms.
CME Group’s FedWatch tool gives an 89.5% chance that rates hold. In September, the Fed raised them a quarter point, to a range of 3.75% to 4.00%.
T1 Energy Technical Read: Rebound Within a Downtrend
Technically, the move appears to be a brief upswing within a longer decline. TE hit a high of $12.49 on June 4 and now trades at $2.56. The shares sit under all three of their moving averages (20-, 50- and 200-day), and the 50-day average has dropped beneath the 200-day mark.
In its latest session, TE ranged from $2.36 to $2.59 and trades near the top. Holding $2.50 matters: a close under it would wipe out the latest gain. Reaching $2.98, where the 20-day average sits, would help repair the near-term setup.
TE Shares Are Rising
TE Price Action: T1 Energy shares were up 4.07% at $2.56 at the time of publication on Wednesday. The stock is near its 52-week low of $2.08, according to Benzinga Pro.
