Earnings Preview & History
Super Micro is scheduled to report fiscal first-quarter earnings on Nov. 3 after the market closes. Analysts estimate earnings per share of $1.20 and revenue of $16.10 billion For the prior quarter, Supermicro reported earnings per share of $1.70, beating the consensus estimate of 62 cents. The company also posted revenue of $11.12 billion, missing the consensus estimate of $12.33 billion.
What to Watch: Backlog, Margins and Cash Flow
Investors will be closely tracking Super Micro’s fiscal 2027 outlook, after it guided to revenue of $65 billion to $72 billion in August. If first-quarter revenue lands near the $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion preliminary range, the company would be on pace to reach the high end. Backlog will also be in focus, after Super Micro booked more than $60 billion in new orders in the fourth quarter and entered the year with a record backlog. Gross margin will draw attention too. It was 17.5% in the fourth quarter, helped by mix, and the preliminary first-quarter range of 12.0% to 12.5% is well below that, though above guidance of 10.4% to 10.8%.
Cash flow and inventory are also a focus. Inventory rose to $12.9 billion in the fourth quarter, and operating cash flow for fiscal 2026 was negative $6.8 billion, as customers delayed deployments because of power, cooling and data center readiness constraints.

Super Micro Trades Below Its 20-Day and 50-Day Averages but Holds Above Its 200-Day
At $35.01, Super Micro is stuck in a near-term downtrend: it’s trading 6.8% below its 20-day SMA ($37.65) and 8.4% below its 50-day SMA ($38.33), which keeps rallies vulnerable to selling pressure. The 20-day SMA sitting below the 50-day SMA reinforces that bearish near-term slope.
Zooming out, the longer trend is still trying to hold together, with the stock 1.9% above the 100-day SMA ($34.44) and 7.6% above the 200-day SMA ($32.61). That matters because the golden cross in August (50-day above 200-day) is still technically intact, even though price has cooled since the recent swing high in October.
For momentum, MACD is the cleaner read right now: it’s below its signal line and the histogram is negative, which points to fading upside pressure versus the prior upswing. Put simply, when MACD is below its signal line, momentum is cooling unless buyers can push the trend back above that baseline.
- Key Resistance: $42.00 — a round-number area that can cap rebounds, especially with the 50-day average sitting overhead as a technical “ceiling.”
- Key Support: $31.00 — a nearby floor to watch if selling continues, sitting closer to the stock’s longer-term trend support zone.
