Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOGL)’s Google is rolling out its new Gemini 4 Carbon frontier AI model, and Space Exploration Technologies (NASDAQ:SPCX) CEO Elon Musk said he finds it “impressive.”
Gemini 4 Carbon touts a top spot on Artificial Analysis’ Intelligence Index and strong cybersecurity benchmark results.
CEO Sundar Pichai said Carbon ranks No. 1 on the Intelligence Index v5.0 with a score of 59 and posted scores of 88.2% on SEC-bench Pro, 54.8% on ExploitGym and 71.0% on CWE-bench.
Pichai said Carbon follows the Argon release from two weeks ago and will be rolled out gradually, with some trusted cyber defenders getting access starting this week and broader partner access via the Fairwind Program ahead of wider availability.

In a Wednesday announcement, Pichai said Gemini 4 Carbon improves long-horizon tasks and adds stronger frontier safeguards. He said the rollout will follow the Argon playbook, with staged access through trusted Program.
