Chuck Schumer Says Americans Paid ‘Billions More for Gas’ as Trump Profited From Oil Stocks; White House Insists Low Prices Are ‘Priority’

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) accused President Donald Trump of profiting from his oil and gas stocks while Americans pay more at the pump, vowing that Senate Democrats will hold him accountable.

In a post on X, Schumer said that Americans have paid “billions more for gas” while Trump has “stuffed tens of millions in personal profit into his pockets.”

Schumer argued that members of Congress and the president alike should be barred from making millions off their office, calling it “obscene.”

“Senate Democrats will hold Trump accountable for doing just that,” Schumer added.
