• Visa stock is trading near recent highs. What should traders watch with V?

Susquehanna analyst James Friedman said a new interchange category for agentic transactions could emerge as AI-driven commerce expands, although the recently released interchange tables do not yet include one.

Visa believes adoption could follow a path similar to e-commerce and mobile payments, which supported its growth.

Its payment credentials, authorization, security, know-your-customer (KYC) and anti-money laundering (AML) processes, along with consumer and merchant protections, could remain critical as AI agents transact on users’ behalf, Friedman said.

Friedman noted that Visa’s Trusted Agent Protocol is designed to help merchants and payment infrastructure providers securely identify and transact with Visa-approved AI agents. The analyst believes this shift could strengthen Visa’s role in digital payments.

Friedman updated his estimates to reflect the company’s non-operating expense guidance for the fourth quarter and full year.

  • Q4: Net revenue remains at $11.94 billion, with an adjusted operating margin of 66.7%. Adjusted diluted EPS is revised to $3.39 from $3.40.
  • 2026: Net revenue remains at $45.7 billion, with an adjusted operating margin of 67.5%. Adjusted diluted EPS is lowered to $13.18 from $13.19.
  • 2027: Net revenue is unchanged at $49.6 billion, adjusted operating margin at 67.7% and adjusted diluted EPS at $14.53.
  • 2028: Net revenue remains at $54.3 billion, adjusted operating margin at 67.6% and adjusted diluted EPS at $16.24.

V Benzinga Edge Scorecard: Momentum Strong, Value Neutral

Below is the Benzinga Edge scorecard for Visa, highlighting its strengths and weaknesses compared to the broader market:

  • Momentum: Bullish (Score: 89.21) — The stock is showing strong relative strength versus the broader market, even with today’s pullback.
  • Quality: Bullish (Score: 85.07) — The fundamentals screen well, which often helps support the stock on dips.
  • Value: Neutral (Score: 7.21) — The score points to a pricey setup versus typical value screens, so the stock may need continued execution to justify the multiple.
  • Growth: Weak (Score: 17.57) — Growth is not the main pillar in this scorecard, which can matter if the market rotates toward faster growers.

The Verdict: Visa’s Benzinga Edge signal reveals a momentum-and-quality-led profile, where trend strength is doing most of the heavy lifting. With value and growth scoring much lower, traders often treat pullbacks as buy-the-dip opportunities only as long as the uptrend structure (and key supports) stays intact.
