Winnebago Stock Jumps 6% As Q4 Earnings Beat Estimates Despite Revenue Miss, Soft 2027 Outlook

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE:WGO) stock is trading higher by over 6% on Wednesday after the outdoor recreation products manufacturer reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 results, beating the EPS expectations.

The company reported adjusted earnings of 49 cents per share, beating the analyst consensus estimate of 47 cents.

Revenue reached $645.1 million, missing the analyst estimate of $660.08 million.

Revenue declined 17% year over year primarily due to lower unit volume and product mix, partially offset by selective price adjustments.

Margins Impacted Though Cash Flows Improved

Gross profit declined 18.6% year over year to $80.7 million. Gross margin decreased 30 basis points primarily due to volume deleverage, partially offset by operational efficiencies from Motorhome segment transformation initiatives.

Adjusted EBITDA fell 14.7% year over year to $32.6 million, representing 5.1% adjusted EBITDA margin.

Net leverage ratio improved to 2.2x at quarter end, reflecting strong cash generation.

Winnebago ended the quarter with $181.4 million in cash and cash equivalents and $443.3 million in total debt.

The company paid a quarterly cash dividend of 36 cents per share on September 23, 2026.

Segment Performance

Towable RV revenue fell 28.1% year over year to $220.3 million as lower unit shipments and a shift toward lower-priced models outweighed selective price adjustments.

Motorhome RV revenue decreased 10.4% to $323.6 million, driven by lower unit volume and an unfavorable product mix, partially offset by lower discounts and allowances.

Marine revenue declined 2.7% to $92.3 million, reflecting a shift in product mix toward lower price-point models, partially offset by pricing actions.

Management Commentary

Chief Executive Officer Michael Happe highlighted the resilience of Winnebago’s portfolio despite a persistently challenging retail environment.

The company reported early signs of progress, including traction in the Winnebago Motorhome transformation, improving market share at Grand Design Towables and strong share growth at Winnebago Towables.

Grand Design Motorized continued to gain market penetration, while Barletta continues to expand share in the U.S. aluminum pontoon market.

Management emphasized on key drivers including further Motorhome RV operating improvement, contributions from recently launched products, manufacturing-footprint alignment, material-cost and sourcing initiatives, expense discipline and leverage management.

Happe emphasized on the balance sheet strength with the renewal and extension of the company’s $350 million revolving credit facility through 2031.

Speaking on the key market trends management said the RV and boating interest remained healthy, but affordability pressures and macroeconomic uncertainty continued to delay new purchases.

Extended purchase cycles and cautious dealer ordering continued to temper industry shipments, while demand remained soft and varied across categories, with limited visibility into the timing of a recovery.

Softer Outlook

Winnebago forecasts its fiscal 2027 adjusted earnings guidance to range from $1.65 to $2.25, below the analyst consensus estimate of $2.33.

The company also expects fiscal 2027 GAAP earnings per share of $0.90 to $1.50, below the analyst consensus estimate of $1.79.

The company expects fiscal 2027 revenue of $2.65 billion to $2.80 billion, below the $2.81 billion consensus estimate.

Winnebago expects North American RV wholesale shipments in the range of 275,000 to 295,000 units for calendar year 2026.

In addition, it anticipates North American RV wholesale shipments in the range of 265,000 to 295,000 units for calendar year 2027.

The lowered shipment forecast reflects potential impact on overall demand due to prevailing trends in the RV sector, including the impacts from current policy and trade environment, competitive dynamics, shifts in consumer preferences, and key macroeconomic factors.
