Street Expects a Step Back in Q3
Wall Street is modeling profit of 68 cents a share on $1.05 billion in sales when Bloom Energy reports October 22. Both targets sit beneath the figures the company just posted, so analysts are penciling in a sequential dip.
Some investors may be trimming positions rather than gamble on a report that must top an elevated bar.
A Blowout Second Quarter Raised the Stakes
Bloom Energy pulled in $1.07 billion in sales last quarter, well ahead of the $822.77 million Wall Street projected, per Benzinga Pro. Adjusted profit of 78 cents a share came in at nearly twice the 40-cent forecast. Total sales more than doubled from the prior year, climbing 165.5%, and product sales alone jumped 215.4% to $935.4 million.
That demand led Bloom Energy to raise its 2026 sales forecast to a range of $3.90 billion to $4.20 billion, from $3.40 billion to $3.80 billion previously. The company also boosted its adjusted profit outlook to $2.55 to $2.85 a share, up from $1.85 to $2.25.
For Bloom Energy, a beat might confirm customers are still signing up quickly and could spark fresh buying. A miss would carry more risk, since it may raise doubts that last quarter’s surge was more than a one-time spike in orders.
Analysts Remain Upbeat Heading in
Most of Wall Street still leans positive. Analysts hold a Buy consensus on the stock with a $290.71 average price target, and several brokerages have lifted their targets in recent days:
- Truist Securities: Hold, target raised to $240 (Oct. 16)
- Baird: Outperform, target raised to $351 (Oct. 15)
- UBS: Buy, target raised to $350 (Oct. 7)
