Bloom Energy Stock Is Falling Tuesday: What’s Going On?

Bloom Energy Corporation (NYSE:BE) stock fell nearly 3% in Tuesday’s premarket trading as investors pulled back from high-valuation stocks. Nasdaq futures declined 0.70%, while S&P 500 futures slipped 0.07%.

The stock gained 138.63% over the past 12 months. Despite the recent pullback, it remains in a longer-term uptrend.

However, investors are turning cautious ahead of the company’s Oct. 22 earnings report. The upcoming results could increase volatility as traders assess growth expectations and valuation risks.

Technical Analysis

Bloom Energy remains in a longer-term bullish trend. The stock trades about 19.5% above its 200-day simple moving average (SMA) of $213.28. Its 50-day SMA also remains above the 200-day SMA, signaling continued strength.

However, the stock trades 8.1% below its 20-day SMA of $277.14, suggesting weaker short-term momentum.

The relative strength index (RSI) stands at 48.20, indicating neutral conditions. The stock is neither overbought nor oversold.

Key technical levels include resistance at $302.50 and support at $251.50. A break below support could increase selling pressure and shift attention toward the 100-day SMA.

Earnings And Analyst Outlook

Bloom Energy is scheduled to report earnings on Oct. 22.

The stock trades at a price-to-earnings ratio of 340.6, reflecting elevated growth expectations.

Benzinga Edge Rankings

Bloom Energy’s Benzinga Edge rankings show strong growth and momentum but weak valuation.

  • Momentum: 96.98, indicating strong price momentum.
  • Value: 2.33, reflecting a premium valuation.
  • Growth: 98.87, highlighting strong growth metrics.

The combination suggests that earnings and guidance could play a major role in the stock’s next move. High valuation also leaves less room for disappointing results.
