Twist Bioscience Corporation (NASDAQ:TWST) on Wednesday announced an agreement with Lilly TuneLab, a collaborative AI/ML drug discovery platform created by Eli Lilly and Co. (NYSE:LLY).
Twist is a provider of antibody characterization data services for TuneLab, including for AbLab, an antibody developability prediction model.
Integrating High-Quality Wet Lab Data With AI Drug Discovery
TuneLab was created to accelerate biotech innovation by enabling participating companies to access AI/ML drug discovery models trained on decades of Lilly’s proprietary research data.
Participating companies may use the TuneLab prediction models to more rapidly down-select candidate molecules.
Through this agreement, users will be able to order antibody services from Twist using TuneLab preferred Twist protocols to generate high-quality wet lab data.
Leadership Commentary On AI Data Scaling And Federated Training
“Twist has the scale and high-throughput capabilities to generate consistent and reliable antibody characterization data these models need to be trained on. Lilly’s leadership in empowering AI-enabled drug discovery and its impressive network of partnerships create a powerful ecosystem that brings together advanced models and high-quality data,” said Emily Leproust, CEO and co-founder of Twist Bioscience.
In August, Anthropic selected Twist Bioscience as an independent evaluator for a protein design campaign using its Claude Opus 4.8 and Mythos Preview artificial intelligence models.
Anthropic disclosed the results in an Aug. 18 blog post. Twist Bioscience subsequently reported the development in a regulatory filing.
TWST Price Action: Twist Bioscience shares were up 5.79% at $146.09 at the time of publication on Wednesday. The stock is approaching its 52-week high of $155.44, according to Benzinga Pro data.
