Why Is Roblox Stock Trading Lower on Tuesday?

Roblox Corp (NYSE:RBLX) stock is falling on Tuesday as investors engage in profit-taking following a 12% rally on Monday.

The previous session’s surge was driven by price forecast increases from several Wall Street firms, alongside broader strength in the communications services sector. Nasdaq futures are down 0.06% while S&P 500 futures have shed 0.13%.

On Monday, BofA Securities analyst Omar Dessouky maintained a Neutral rating on Roblox while raising the price forecast to $48 from $44.

Wedbush analyst Alicia Reese also maintained a Neutral rating while raising the price forecast to $48 from $40.

Rounding out the updates, Wells Fargo analyst Ken Gawrelski maintained an Overweight rating and raised the price forecast to $64 from $46. Conversely, BTIG maintained a Sell rating on Roblox on Monday while raising its price forecast to $41.

Growth Drivers and Competition

Dessouky noted he sees better odds of a viral hit taking off on the platform, citing the recent popularity surge of the game Steal an Egg.

However, the analyst kept his Neutral rating, pointing to looming competition from Grand Theft Auto VI as a factor weighing on his outlook.

Monetization and Sector Context

Wedbush’s Reese highlighted management’s efforts to reignite growth, but noted she is holding off on turning more optimistic until there is clearer visibility into when monetization efforts move the needle on bookings.

Meanwhile, communications services stocks traded higher Monday following growth signals from AI executives at firms including Anthropic, OpenAI and SpaceXAI.

Technical Analysis

From a trend perspective, RBLX is still acting strong in the short run: it’s trading 21.5% above its 20-day SMA ($41.12), 12.2% above its 50-day SMA ($44.54), and 8.4% above its 100-day SMA ($46.06). The longer-term picture is less forgiving, with the stock still trading 14.9% below its 200-day SMA ($58.71), keeping the bigger downtrend pressure in view.

RSI is the cleanest momentum read right now, sitting at 75.04, which signals the move is getting stretched and can be prone to snapbacks even if the trend hasn’t fully broken. In the background, the death cross that formed in December 2025 (50-day SMA below the 200-day SMA) is a reminder that rallies can still run into heavier supply as price approaches longer-term resistance.

  • Key Resistance: $53 — a nearby round-number area where rebounds can stall, especially with price still below the 200-day moving average zone.
  • Key Support: $40.50 — a prior buyer-defense area that sits closer to the stock’s rising short-term trend and recent consolidation territory.

RBLX Price Action: Roblox shares were down 1.64% at $50.80 at the time of publication on Tuesday, according to Benzinga Pro data.
