On Monday, in an Instagram post, Trump Jr. and his wife acknowledged that Russian businessman Umar Kremlev paid for a lavish post-wedding celebration for them and dozens of guests in the Bahamas in May.

He has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on expenses related to the private-island festivities, including a fireworks show. The celebration began one day after the couple’s wedding, according to ProPublica.

Bettina Trump said the Bahamas trip had been planned before the wedding as a weekend with friends. After their original wedding plans changed, she said, the couple decided to marry beforehand and attend the already-planned celebration as newlyweds.
