Shares of Eos Energy Enterprises Inc. (NASDAQ:EOSE) are trading higher Wednesday morning after the company announced a major commercial collaboration with Google and MN8 Energy.
The tripartite partnership provides high-profile hyperscaler validation for Eos’ proprietary zinc-based long-duration energy storage platform, reinforcing investor confidence in the commercialization trajectory of its technology.

Landmark Google Partnership Integrates Zinc-Based Battery Storage
Under the agreement, renewable power producer MN8 Energy will develop, own, and operate the Mammoth Solar project in Kanawha County, West Virginia, built on a reclaimed coal mine site representing up to $350 million in capital investment.
Designed to deliver clean, around-the-clock capacity to the PJM grid for Google’s regional data centers, the multi-technology asset combines 86 megawatts of utility-scale solar with a dual-storage architecture.
That system pairs 70 megawatts (280 megawatt-hours) of short-duration lithium-ion batteries alongside 10 megawatts (100 megawatt-hours) of Eos’ Z3 aqueous zinc long-duration battery system. Providing 10 hours of continuous storage, Eos’ technology converts intermittent solar energy into a dispatchable, predictable resource to match hyperscale data center load profiles.
Commercial Timeline And Master Supply Agreement Milestone
The deployment marks Google’s first project utilizing Eos’ American-made Z3 system and serves as the inaugural deployment under the previously established MN8-Eos Master Supply Agreement.
Under the contract, Google will off-take the energy, capacity and clean energy attributes from the facility. Commercial operations will roll out in phases, with solar generation going live in 2028, followed by lithium-ion storage in 2029 and Eos’ long-duration storage system in 2030.
Highlighting the deployment, Eos Chief Commercial Officer Nathan Kroeker noted that the Z3 system solves critical grid reliability challenges by extending the value of clean generation across more hours of the day to deliver dependable capacity when demand peaks.
