The Official Trump (CRYPTO: TRUMP) memecoin pulled back sharply on Tuesday after a week of solid gains.
TRUMP Retreats Sharply
TRUMP fell more than 11% in the last 24 hours, cooling off a powerful rally that delivered nearly 60% gains over the past week.
The coin’s trading volume fell 33% over the last 24 hours, signaling thin activity.
The move came amid a broader pullback across the cryptocurrency market, with blue-chip currencies such as Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) giving up gains from their recent highs.
Increasing Scrutiny on TRUMP Memecoin
Launched shortly before Donald Trump’s presidential inauguration in January 2025, the TRUMP memecoin hit a peak market capitalization of $9 billion. Its fully diluted valuation, accounting for Trump-linked holdings, climbed as high as $75 billion.
However, the coin fell as quickly as it had risen. It has plunged 97% from its all-time highs, while its market capitalization has collapsed to $552 million

Nearly 1 million people lost money on the coin, racking up $3.8 billion in total losses through the end of June. Meanwhile, Trump himself made nearly $636 million in royalties and licensing fees related to “Celebration Coins” last year alone, according to his 2025 financial disclosure.
Earlier this month, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) asked the SEC to investigate the TRUMP memecoin, calling it a potential “illegal scam.”
Price Action: At the time of writing, TRUMP was exchanging hands at $61,237.57, up 3.42% in the last 24 hours, according to data from Benzinga Pro.
