Wayfair Shares Jump on Plan for First Pennsylvania Store

Shares of Wayfair Inc. (NYSE:W) are higher Monday afternoon, gaining momentum following news of the online retailer’s expanded brick-and-mortar push into Pennsylvania.

95,000-Square-Foot Pittsburgh Retail Location Announced

The Boston-based home furnishings giant announced plans to open a 95,000-square-foot store in Pittsburgh in 2027. Situated at the North Hills Village shopping center just outside downtown, the single-level retail footprint will feature an on-site design studio and a curated selection of “Wayfair Verified” products organized by room. Customers will be able to take select items home the same day or utilize Wayfair’s logistics network for fast two-day delivery.

“Pittsburgh is a region celebrated for its strong community roots and distinct architectural character, making it an incredibly exciting market for our physical retail expansion,” said Liza Lefkowski, vice president of merchandising and stores at Wayfair.

The store addition marks another milestone in Wayfair’s omnichannel strategy, joining operational locations in Illinois, Georgia and Ohio, alongside planned stores in Denver, Westchester, Fort Lauderdale, Cincinnati and Princeton.

Wayfair Shares Climb Monday Afternoon
