QUICK SPARK: Bloom Energy CEO Invokes Henry Ford to Explain the AI Power Boom

Bloom Energy Corp. (NYSE:BE) CEO K.R. Sridhar turned to Henry Ford to explain how the company is approaching the artificial intelligence infrastructure boom, arguing that execution matters more than forecasting demand. Speaking on the second-quarter earnings call, Sridhar acknowledged he cannot say with certainty whether AI investment will continue at its current pace.

Instead, he said Bloom is focused on the factors it can control.

“Henry Ford could not control whether America wanted to drive. He controlled the cost, quality and availability of the Model T,” Sridhar said. “Like Ford, we are focused on managing the controllables.”

Building For Demand, Not Predicting It

Sridhar said Bloom is driving costs lower each year while improving its on-site power systems and manufacturing capacity to meet growing demand from AI data centers.

The comments came as the company highlighted rapid business momentum. Bloom said it took 21 years to achieve its first $1 billion revenue year in 2022, another three years to double that figure, and is now guiding to double it again in just one year.

Rather than trying to predict where AI spending goes next, Sridhar said Bloom’s strategy is to become the fastest and most dependable provider of on-site power, positioning the company to benefit regardless of how quickly the AI market expands.
