Webuy Global Ltd. (NASDAQ:WBUY) shares are trading higher by almost 31% on Thursday as the company strengthens its position in China’s growing inbound tourism market.
This surge follows the announcement of strategic initiatives, including membership in the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), aimed at enhancing collaboration within the tourism sector and leveraging technology to serve international travelers better.

Expansion In China
Webuy is actively expanding its global tourism partnership network, recently joining PATA and planning to participate in the China Inbound Tourism Alliance Conference.
These initiatives align with the company’s long-term strategy to build an AI-assisted international tourism ecosystem that connects global travelers with destinations across China.
Also, this week, the company penned an MOU with Shanghai MoYu Travel Service, operator of the MeetPanda platform, to jointly develop travel experiences for international visitors to China.
The partnership follows strong growth at Webuy’s WeTrip platform, which recorded approximately $907,000 in the second quarter of 2026 transaction value, more than 9x higher year over year. June transaction value reached about $419,000, up over 10x from the prior-year period.
The collaboration combines WeTrip’s expanding global customer base and travel operations with Moyu’s local destination network and China-focused travel expertise.
WBUY Outperforms Consumer Staples Sector
Webuy Global is outperforming the Consumer Staples sector, which is currently ranked nine out of 11 sectors and has declined by 1.62% today. The stock’s impressive gain of over 40% stands in stark contrast to the sector’s struggles, indicating strong investor confidence in Webuy’s strategic initiatives.
Over the past 30 days, the Consumer Staples sector has seen a slight decline of 0.87%, while Webuy’s recent performance suggests that it is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing inbound tourism market in China. This divergence in performance could signal a shift in investor sentiment towards companies that are innovating and adapting to changing market conditions.
