Musician Taylor Swift and NFL star Travis Kelce got married and hosted a celebration with nearly 1,000 of their friends and family at Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
While the event won’t change the financials of Madison Square Garden Entertainment (NYSE:MSGE), owner of the iconic venue, the event could bring future fortunes to two other entertainment companies with connections to the singer.

Swift, Kelce Wedding Recorded
In recent years, Swift has provided a behind-the-scenes look at her life and her record-breaking Eras Tour with documentaries, including the record-breaking “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour.”
That film, which was release in partnership with AMC Entertainment Holdings Inc (NYSE:AMC) grossed $267 million worldwide.
A report from Entertainment Weekly said there were signs at Madison Square Garden indicating a film shoot was in progress and signs saying guests would be filmed. Tight non-disclosure agreements for the nearly 1,000 guests including no use of cell phones at the wedding reception.
These items taking together mean that the wedding and reception were likely filmed with a camera crew belonging to Swift and Kelce, with no guests able to film footage.
So the big question now is what happens to this exclusive footage of one of the most anticipated weddings in recent years. Perhaps the newlyweds just wanted to have the most epic wedding movie to watch. Or maybe they filmed it and will release it as a wedding favor to everyone who attended in the future.
More than likely, the event was filmed with the potential or expectation to release the event as a movie or docuseries.
Who Wins the Rights?
If there is indeed a future Swift, Kelce wedding film or docuseries, which company would be the partner with the musician and NFL player.
Chances are that Swift would partner with a familiar company and in the past few years that includes both AMC and Walt Disney Co (NYSE:DIS).
AMC partnered with the singer on the record breaking concert film and helped launch the film into theaters worldwide. For wide release in movie theaters, a partnership with AMC could make the most sense.
Disney landed the streaming rights to that concert film and also the six-episode “Taylor Swift: The End of an Era.”
Partnering with Disney could help get the film into theaters and onto streaming or straight to streaming if that is the preferred method.
Several people connected to Disney were listed among the wedding guest list, according to Variety.
Swift invited former Disney CEO Bob Iger, Head of Disney Live Action Films David Greenbaum and Disney President Dana Walden.
This doesn’t mean of course that they were there to oversee the filming of the event. Disney has been close to Swift in recent years, including getting her to sing an original song for the recently released “Toy Story 5.”
AMC CEO Adam Aron attended the wedding and even shared a lengthy account of the event in a since-deleted social media post, as reported by Deadline.
“It was such a privilege to be THERE,” Aron tweeted.
Some of the details shared by Aron in the tweet may have gone above and beyond what the happy couple wanted shared and have been what the NDA was put in place to protect.
Time will tell if the wedding ends up being shown in movie theaters or on streaming and whether Aron’s deleted post hurt his company’s chance to land the big event.
